AIRED LIVE JANUARY 28th
Many people will not speak their message, create their art or live into their vision. Why? How is it that we get sidetracked even when we’ve promised ourselves not to die with our music inside?

Author/novelist Steven Pressfield delights us this week with his honest and motivational wisdom about breaking out of our own barriers and challenging the most critical opponent in the persuit of creative expression…. our self.

Pressfield has written numerous books, including “The War of Art” (2003) and “The Legend of Baggar Vance” (1995). Look out for his latest novel, "The Profession", coming out in June 2011!

The New Way to Success, Relationships & Happiness

We are all looking for the magic bullet, THE formula that will finally lead us to everything we desire in life: great relationships, a sense of happiness and peace, and a feeling that we are living fully and alive.  That 'formula' is actually a complete paradigm shift to a new understanding of how it is that we create our experience of the world.

Jamie and I talk about The Three Principles as that paradigm shift and how each of us has a natural state of wellbeing that can never be threatened.  Who you are is beyond your thinking. And Happiness, Success and great relationships are the result of this understanding taking root in each of us.

Jamie Smart, one of the world's finest Neuro-Linguistic Programming trainers, and CEO of  Salad Ltd  focuses on teaching the Three Principles (of Mind, Consciousness and Thought) for understanding the human experience.

Find out more about what Jamie does at http://www.saladltd.co.uk/ and

November 6th and 7th join Jamie for "Secrets of Superstars NLP'ers, Coaches, Trainers and Consultants"

I talk with Jason Lee Mitchell on the power of "sharing presence" as we explore the variety of human connection –not just with others but also with ourselves.

This is a very beautiful hour discovering the power of presence and Jason is truly committed to help people create and strengthen their human connections. He talks about why experiencing our openness creates less fear - not more.

Jason teaches ‘Sharing Presence’ Workshops in London, and around the globe. Using his background in film and theatre, he now dedicates his life to Sharing Presence workshops and writing as a medium to inspire each of us to share our true self in a way that is in harmony with life.

Actually the show was called "Tasting Liberation with Big Mind and Genpo Roshi".  My goodness, we certainly did that and much, much more.

Roshi takes me through the paces, live on air, demonstrating the lastest 'spiritual technology' and his newest addition to the Big Mind Process since his book Big Mind Big Heart was published in 2007.

An amazing guest and an amazing show!

Life Has Pain; And You Don't Have To Suffer

2/10/2010

Recently I've been testing the idea that 'suffering is optional' to see if it's more than a soundbite.  I've found some interesting things.  One that suffering is, actually, a choice. And two, that despite that, painful things do happen.  I can see  that sounds like a contradiction, so in the show I retrace  how I learned to meet my thoughts with understanding and to loosen my mind from the grip of repetitive thinking.

I promised to post the ways you can get more familiar with your witness, from Wayne Dyer's Your Sacred Self (paraphrased in some sentences) Here you go:
  • Notice the noticer.
  • As you notice the noticer, remind yourself you cannot be hurt or suffer in any way. (you have a body, but you are not your body)
  • Use this affirmation: "In my world, nothing ever goes wrong".
  • When you find yourself troubled say: "I am more than what bothers me"
  • Open to the idea that this will work for you - you've been conditioned to belief that your body is the essence of your humanity.
  • Don't evaluate your progress at noticing the witness
  • Practice new kinds of self talk. (You'd never say, "I am my broken leg"!) so let the noticer say "I am that which owns this body..."
  • Practice observing thought 30 minutes a day

It Is What You Say It Is

What you talk about builds the house you live in. Ever catch yourself saying "Oh, I'm not good at that"?

I've had many clients tell me they can't manage this or that based on having never really tried it. We bust right through those to incredible new places.  How?  Because they are just lies. They are lies that we install as the windows in our house. Through these lies we view the world outside: a limited place of ever decreasing possibility.   It doesn't have to be this way.

Dusting Off, Moving On: Eight things I packed for New Year

Does it feel different to be looking forward to a year ahead rather than counting the days to the end?  There's a subtle shift, isn't there?  Whether you believe a new year is a total clean slate or just another day - it still seems like like change is afoot somehow.

Or maybe that is just me!!

I spent New Year doing something I've never done before: December 31st I was alone on a reflective retreat. On the show I share with you what I did, what I packed and what I learned and how you can apply 5 principles of change to any change in your life.
  1. Close Out by choosing consciously and releasing
  2. Spend time in gratitude by making lists of what you appreciate and where you got it right
  3. Forgive and Release.  No matter how hard you try, it is impossible to be grateful and depressed - Robert Holden from his perpetual calendar
  4. Open to the New.  Don't just reset your system, get the upgrade.
  5. Visioning & Goalsetting.  Do it so it works, don't just create another TO DO list.  (To avoid the 'goals-of-death' you can always contact me for some coaching).
The Eight things I took with me that I mention in the show are all listed with the links included in my blog post The Old, the New and the Unknown
